The Inspiring Journey of Aakash Ashraf: Battling Cancer to Ace Class 10 Board Exams

Srinagar- Aakash Ashraf, a resilient teenager from Tral, Kashmir, has defied all odds by achieving an outstanding 97 percent marks in his Class 10 board examinations after battling cancer for the past one and a half years.
Aakash’s academic journey took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with blood cancer during his Class 9 academic session in 2024. His life was soon consumed by the chemotherapy and radiotherapy wards, replacing his school classroom.
Despite the physical and emotional challenges he faced, Aakash remained determined to excel in his studies. With limited access to regular classes or private tuition, he embarked on a self-study journey, dedicating short intervals of time whenever his health allowed.
His hard work and perseverance paid off when the results were announced, with Aakash scoring an impressive 485 out of 500 marks. This remarkable achievement is a testament to his unwavering spirit and dedication to his education.
Although the effects of treatment continue to linger, Aakash remains steadfast in his academic pursuits. He plans to pursue medical subjects through offline or distance learning, aiming to continue his education despite the ongoing challenges.
Looking ahead, Aakash has been advised to undergo a stem cell bone marrow transplant in the coming months. Before that, he aspires to secure admission to Class 11, where he intends to study Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Physical Education.
