Union Home Secretary Holds Meeting with Lieutenant Governor in Jammu
The Union Home Secretary, Govind Mohan, recently conducted several high-level meetings in Jammu to discuss the security situation, ongoing anti-terror operations, and the operational readiness of the security forces in the region. He met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to address various security-related issues.
During his two-day visit to Jammu, Mohan chaired meetings to review operational security in hilly areas, overall security status, and ongoing anti-terror efforts, including drone incursions along the borders. The discussions focused on a wide range of security, operational, and development matters in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meetings also involved a review of the current security status in Kashmir and Jammu, ongoing anti-terror operations, and the joint operational readiness of the security forces. Inter-agency coordination among the police, paramilitary forces, the Army, and intelligence agencies was emphasized.
Enhanced security measures in the hilly regions of Jammu were also a key topic of discussion. The meetings continued for a second day at the convention center in Jammu, with the participation of top security officials from various forces, police, and intelligence agencies.
Focus on Border Security and Anti-Terror Operations
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently instructed security forces to intensify operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and financing. Mohan’s visit to Jammu, accompanied by a central team of officers, aimed to assess and enhance border security management, inter-agency coordination, and ongoing anti-terror efforts.
Security forces are actively engaged in anti-terror operations, particularly in high-altitude and forested areas across Jammu, where several terrorists, including Pakistani nationals, are believed to be hiding after infiltrating the region.
There has been a rise in drone activity along the International Border and Line of Control, with intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists attempting to infiltrate during foggy conditions.
