BJP Leader Denies Claims of Seeking Separate Statehood for Jammu
In a recent statement, Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma has refuted allegations suggesting that the BJP is pushing for a separate statehood for Jammu. He emphasized that there is no such agenda within the party.
During a press interaction in Jammu, Jugal Kishore reiterated the BJP’s firm stance on the restoration of statehood to the entire Jammu and Kashmir region, in line with the assurances made by the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister.
Addressing the media, Jugal Kishore stated, “There is no internal dialogue within the BJP regarding the creation of a separate state for Jammu. Our primary goal and commitment lie in restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.”
According to reports from Kashmir News Trust, the BJP MP highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has guaranteed the reinstatement of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at an appropriate juncture. He also noted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has consistently reaffirmed the government’s dedication to this cause.
Jugal Kishore debunked the misinformation circulating about the formation of a separate Jammu state, labeling such claims as unfounded. He emphasized that there have been no formal proposals, discussions, or intentions in this direction.
Furthermore, he emphasized the BJP’s focus on fostering peace, development, and political stability in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that the restoration of statehood will align with the commitments made in Parliament.
Highlighting the party’s priorities, the MP underscored the importance of ongoing development initiatives, the reinforcement of democratic institutions, and the safeguarding of the constitutional and democratic rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
