In a heartfelt ceremony at Rajouri, Minister Satish Sharma honored veterans, war widows, and active soldiers during the 10th Veterans’ Day and Ex-Servicemen Day mega rally organized by the Indian Army’s Northern Command. The event, attended by senior Army officers and a large gathering of ex-servicemen and their families, highlighted the sacrifices and contributions of the Armed Forces to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and unity.
A Day of Remembrance and Gratitude
Minister Satish Sharma emphasized that Veterans’ Day goes beyond ceremony, serving as a solemn reminder of the unparalleled sacrifices made by Indian soldiers. He praised the bravery, discipline, and professionalism of the Armed Forces, which have earned global respect for India. He emphasized the government’s priority to provide employment, legal, medical, and rehabilitation support to veterans and their dependents.

The Minister paid heartfelt tribute to Veer Naris and families of martyrs, acknowledging their courage and sacrifice as a source of inspiration for the nation. He assured continued support from the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Armed Forces. Specially designed scooters were distributed to disabled soldiers to enhance their mobility and independence, underscoring the commitment to their welfare.

The event featured cultural performances by personnel of the Madras Regiment and Punjab Regiment, adding patriotic fervor to the rally. It concluded with interactions between the Minister, senior Army officers, veterans, NCC cadets, and members of the public, fostering a sense of community and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces.
