PDP MLA Condemns Hate Crimes Against Minorities
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA, Waheed Para, expressed strong condemnation for the increasing hate crimes against minorities in the sub-continent, labeling them as the biggest blot on humanity. He emphasized the significance of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood and co-existence as India’s strength, urging for its preservation and advancement in the region.
Para highlighted the wrongfulness of hate politics in countries like India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, emphasizing the need for harmony and co-existence. He urged for lessons to be drawn from India’s model of religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence among Hindus and Muslims, setting an example for neighboring countries.
Commenting on the closure of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence in J-K’s Reasi district, Para criticized the cancellation of admissions for meritorious students due to protests by BJP leaders. He raised concerns about the implications of such actions on religious minorities and called for a reconsideration of the decision.
Addressing the upcoming budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Para outlined his party’s agenda, including discussions on budget allocation, unemployment, reservation policies, and issues concerning daily wagers. He also emphasized the need to address basic infrastructure challenges like water supply, roads, and electricity.
Regarding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s stance on the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, Para advocated for decisions that support peace in the region and foster better relations between India and Pakistan.
