11 Fire Incidents Reported in Kashmir Region, No Loss of Life
According to officials from the Fire and Emergency Services Department, a total of 11 fire incidents were reported across various districts of the Kashmir region in the last 24 hours. Fortunately, all incidents were successfully brought under control, preventing any loss of life.
The fire service units responded promptly to incidents in Srinagar, Anantnag, Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, Bandipora, and Ganderbal districts. In Bandipora’s Rawalpora Matipota area, a cow shed suffered damage due to a fire, while dry grass caught fire near the Royal Spring Golf Course in Srinagar.
Another incident occurred in Ganderbal’s Pehlipora area, where a single-storey GCI shed was affected by fire. In Budgam’s Wazibagh area, forest trees were damaged in a separate fire incident. In Anantnag, a chinar tree caught fire at Mandipora in Dooru, and a cow shed was damaged in Laditahwot area.
Furthermore, a residential house in Wazirbagh near LD Bagh in Srinagar experienced a fire in one room. In Anantnag’s Sheikhpora area, a residential house was also involved in a fire incident. Additionally, two hay stacks were destroyed in Pulwama’s Gujjar Basti area.
Another fire incident involving a gas cylinder was reported in Soibugh, Budgam district, while a residential house caught fire in Kachloo area of Qaziabad in Kupwara.
An official highlighted the swift response of Fire and Emergency Services personnel, emphasizing that their timely intervention helped control all fires quickly, avoiding casualties and significant property damage. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in any of the incidents.
Meanwhile, Director General Fire and Emergency Services Alok Kumar urged the public to adhere to fire safety guidelines, ensure the safe use of electrical appliances and gas cylinders, and immediately report any fire incidents to the nearest fire station to minimize damage.
