Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute Launches Management Development Programmes Across 18 Districts
In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) recently announced the commencement of the fifth and sixth batches of Management Development Programmes (MDPs) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme. This initiative, funded by the Union Ministry of MSME and executed by the Industries & Commerce Department in Jammu and Kashmir, aims to enhance the capabilities of local entrepreneurs across the Union Territory.
Spanning over 18 districts including Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Srinagar, and more, the MDPs have attracted a total of 504 participants, with a significant number of 479 women entrepreneurs enrolled for the 30-hour training program scheduled over six days.
The inaugural sessions across different districts were graced by various dignitaries including Additional District Development Commissioners, Block Programme Managers, and District Nodal Officers. The enthusiasm shown by local MSMEs towards this program reflects their eagerness to learn and implement modern business management practices.
The MDP curriculum is designed to cover a range of topics including business planning, marketing strategies, digital tools, financial literacy, statutory compliance, innovation, and leadership. The aim is to equip entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to scale up their enterprises, enhance competitiveness, and adopt sustainable business models.
Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts, certified trainers, and JKEDI faculty members. The hands-on training, mentorship sessions, and experiential workshops will provide practical exposure to help participants implement their learnings effectively.
JKEDI’s commitment to inclusive entrepreneurship development is evident through the simultaneous rollout of MDPs across all 18 districts. By focusing on remote and underserved areas, the institute aims to empower entrepreneurs and MSME operators in these regions.
Overall, the launch of the Management Development Programmes signifies a positive step towards fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in Jammu and Kashmir. The program not only aims to enhance the skills of local entrepreneurs but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the Union Territory.
