Fire Incident at Army Camp in Kupwara Causes Extensive Damage
On January 3, a fire incident wreaked havoc at an Army camp in the Sadana sector of Kupwara district, leaving multiple wooden barracks severely damaged. The incident took place during the night, as confirmed by officials.
Fire and Emergency Services Chokibal officials reported that the blaze broke out shortly after midnight in the Sadana area’s Army camp. The preliminary assessment revealed that around four to five wooden barracks were impacted by the fire. These structures, predominantly made of wood and covered with GCI sheets, facilitated the rapid spread of flames.
Efforts to control the fire were successful, but not before it caused significant destruction to the barracks. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties resulting from the incident, according to officials. [KNT]
