Cricket Player Investigated for Displaying Palestine Logo on Helmet During Match
Recently, a video surfaced on social media showing a cricket player, identified as Furqan Ul Haq, displaying a Palestine logo on his helmet while playing cricket at KC Door, Muthi in Pulwama, as reported by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The police have launched a 14-day preliminary enquiry under Section 173(3) BNSS to investigate the matter further and determine the player’s intent, background, and any potential linkages.
Due to the sensitivity of the issue and its potential impact on public order, a similar enquiry has been initiated at PS Domana to gather more information about the individual involved and any possible connections, as per the police statement.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Police revealed that both the cricket player and the organizer of a private tournament were summoned for questioning regarding the use of a Palestinian flag during a match held in Jammu.
During the match, the player was seen wearing a helmet with the Palestine flag, which led to the investigation and questioning of both individuals to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
