Jammu Police Launches Preliminary Enquiry After Cricketer Wears Palestine Logo on Helmet
Jammu Police has initiated a preliminary enquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding a video circulating on social media showing a cricketer from Pulwama wearing a helmet with a Palestine logo. The purpose of the enquiry is to determine the facts, intent, background of the individual, and any potential linkages, according to police officials on Friday.
The cricketer in question has been identified as Furqan Ul Haq, the son of Tajamul Hussain Bhat and a resident of Tangipuna, Pulwama. The video captures him playing cricket at KC Door, Muthi.
Due to the sensitivity of the matter and its potential implications on public order, the police have taken action to investigate further.
A statement released by the police mentioned that the video, which surfaced on social media, depicted a cricket player participating in a match at KC Door, Muthi, with a Palestine logo displayed on his helmet.
To delve deeper into the issue and understand the facts, intent, background, and possible connections of the individual involved, a 14-day preliminary enquiry under Section 173(3) of the BNSS has been launched at Police Station Domana, as per the statement.
