New Syllabus Introduced by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education
In a recent development, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has made a significant decision to discontinue the old syllabus that was previously in use for students who had failed their exams. This decision primarily affects students in classes 10, 11, and 12 who were under the old syllabus and were granted multiple opportunities to pass their exams.
Following the board’s regulations, the outdated syllabus has now lost its validity, and hence, no further chances will be provided to students who need to reappear for exams under the old curriculum.
A recent notification released by the Board has urged concerned candidates to start preparing based on the new syllabus for the upcoming annual private/bi-annual examinations scheduled later this year, after the completion of the summer zone exams and the announcement of annual results.
To ensure a smooth transition, the notification has been issued well in advance, advising students under the old course to make a timely switch to the new syllabus for the annual private/bi-annual exams in 2026 and beyond.
It is worth noting that the number of students who are yet to clear their exams under the old syllabus is quite low, indicating a successful transition to the new curriculum.
