PM Modi to Seek Input from Economists Ahead of 2026-27 Budget
New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to convene a meeting with prominent economists and sectoral experts on Tuesday to gather insights and recommendations for the upcoming Budget, as revealed by a senior government official.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to unveil the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on February 1.
Amidst global uncertainties and a significant 50% tariff imposed by the US on Indian exports, Sitharaman will present the Budget against a challenging backdrop.
In addition to economists and sectoral experts, the meeting will be attended by Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery, NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam, and other key members of the Aayog.
