Baramulla Hosts DARDNAMA: An Event of Resilience and Healing
In a heartwarming display of solidarity and compassion, the Save Youth Save Future Foundation recently organized a remarkable event titled DARDNAMA: A Chronicle of Pain, Truth, and Human Resilience in the serene surroundings of Dak Banglow, Baramulla. The event witnessed the participation of approximately 400 families hailing from various corners of North Kashmir, coming together to share their untold stories and experiences.
DARDNAMA was a poignant initiative that aimed to provide a dignified and inclusive platform for victims of terrorism to finally voice their long-suppressed narratives. Many of these individuals had silently endured the effects of terrorism for over three decades, their struggles and hardships often overlooked and unheard.
The focal point of the program was to shed light on families who had been affected by the turmoil of the past thirty years, yet their stories remained undocumented and unresolved. Through meaningful interactions, the event sought to validate their pain, restore their lost dignity, and bring their longstanding grievances to the forefront of public and administrative attention.
The event also served as an opportunity to commend the victim-centric initiatives spearheaded by Lieutenant Governor Mr. Manoj Sinha, particularly those centered on the rehabilitation, relief, and employment support for families impacted by terrorism. The acknowledgement of these efforts underscored a renewed commitment to addressing the plight of the affected families.
Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, the Chairman of the Foundation, presided over the event and eloquently highlighted the enduring suffering, sacrifices, and resilience of genuine victims of terrorism. He emphasized the need to recognize and amplify the voices of those who had silently borne the brunt of irreparable losses for decades.
Key members of the Foundation, including Vice Chairman Mr. Mir Arif and General Secretary Mr. Sajad Hassan Mir, were present at the event, alongside State and District Coordinators, and other dedicated members of the organization. The proceedings were skillfully managed by Mr. Zia Ul Islam, ensuring a harmonious and respectful exchange between the victims and the Foundation representatives.
Participants seized the opportunity to share their personal narratives of loss, trauma, and resilience spanning the last thirty years. The Foundation meticulously documented details of pending cases, disabled victims, widows, orphans, and other deserving individuals who had yet to receive adequate support. This data will be diligently pursued with relevant authorities in a transparent and accountable manner.
Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat reiterated the positive impact of recent victim-focused measures under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, which have brought hope and relief to many marginalized families. With renewed attention and support, several long-pending cases are finally receiving the consideration they deserve.
The event culminated in a collective pledge to sustain grassroots engagement, systematic documentation, and advocacy efforts to ensure that the genuine victims of terrorism, especially those whose voices have been silenced for decades, are acknowledged, supported, and rehabilitated with the dignity they rightfully deserve.
