Former VHP Leader Praveen Togadia Calls for Reservation of Seats in Vaishno Devi Medical College for Hindus
In a recent statement, former Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia has urged for all 50 seats at the Vaishno Devi medical college in Jammu and Kashmir to be reserved exclusively for Hindus. Togadia, who currently serves as the national president of the Jammu-based Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, emphasized the need to prioritize Hindu students in the medical college admissions.
Togadia raised concerns about the utilization of donations from Hindus for the education of Muslim doctors and warned of a potential escalation in protests if the demand for reservation was not met. He expressed his disappointment with the current admissions process, which saw a majority of Muslim candidates securing spots in the inaugural MBBS batch.
During a press conference in Shakti Nagar, Togadia called upon the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene in the matter and address the alleged injustice faced by Hindu students in the region. He highlighted the importance of ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all communities.
Challenges Faced by Hindus in Jammu Region
Togadia emphasized the need for immediate action to rectify the admission discrepancies at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Government Medical College. He urged the authorities to reconsider the admission list and prioritize the interests of Hindu students in the region.
Furthermore, Togadia expressed solidarity with Hindus facing atrocities in Bangladesh and suggested potential measures to address the issues. He called for the central government to consider halting the supply of essential goods to Bangladesh and even proposed intervention similar to the 1971 approach if necessary.
Protecting Hindu Interests
Togadia highlighted the importance of safeguarding the rights and interests of Hindus both within the country and abroad. He called upon Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to take proactive steps in protecting the Hindu community and ensuring their well-being.
Additionally, Togadia outlined plans to address the presence of illegally settled Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslims in the country, emphasizing the need for action to safeguard the interests of the Hindu population.
Overall, Togadia’s statements reflect a strong commitment to advocating for the rights of Hindus and ensuring their representation in educational institutions and other spheres of society.
